| Ambassador Bangoura presented her credentials as Ambassador to Germany on August 30, 2007 to German President Dr. Horst Kohler. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador to Germany, she served as Deputy Minister of Labor for Manpower Planning & Development. She worked at the University of Liberia in the office of thepresident of the university, serving as Senior Program Coordinator responsible for Special Projects, and for establishing the framework of the University of Liberia Endowment Fund. A significant part of her professional career has been with the United Nations System working for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) in Germany, and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva Switzerland. She also currently serves as Treasurer of the Board of the largest Women’s democracy group in Liberia. The Liberian Women initiative, and is a Board member of the Liberian Youth Network. She is involved in promoting and championing the cause of girls and women in Liberia. She is married with 3 children.She studied Linguistics at the Universite de France Comte in Besancon, France. International Relations at the United Nations University in Tokyo, Japan and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Medford USA. |
